Our Process
Every piece we build follows the same unhurried path — listening first, building second, delivering something that lasts a lifetime.
Most furniture is made fast, in factories, for no one in particular. Ours is made slowly, in our North Carolina workshop, for you specifically. That difference shows in every joint, every surface, every decision about which board goes where.
A typical commission takes 3-6 weeks from deposit to delivery. We think that's about right for something you'll own for decades.
01 — Consult
We begin every commission by listening. Tell us about your space — the dimensions, the light, the way you use the room. Tell us about the pieces you love and the ones that never felt quite right. We'll ask questions, share ideas, and together arrive at a clear vision before a single board is touched.
02 — Design
Wood selection is where a piece begins to take shape. We'll walk you through our current stock of hardwoods — black walnut, white oak, ash and maple, and help you choose the species, cut, and character that suits your vision.
03 — Build
Every piece is built entirely in our workshop outside High Point, NC. We use traditional joinery — mortise and tenon, hand-cut dovetails, drawbored pegs — because it lasts. We don't use pocket screws where a proper joint belongs. Finishes are applied by hand, in multiple coats, with time between each one.
04 — Deliver
We deliver and install every piece ourselves throughout the Southeast. We don't hand your commission to a freight carrier. We wrap it, load it, drive it to your home, and place it exactly where it belongs. We'll level it, adjust it, and make sure you're completely satisfied before we leave.
The first conversation is free and there's no obligation. Tell us what you have in mind.
