About Us
We are a small workshop. We build one thing at a time, by hand, with wood we've chosen ourselves.
Our Story
Carolina Table Company began the way most honest things do — not with a business plan, but with a problem. Our founder, grew up in his grandfather’s custom cabinet shop learning the traditional woodworking skills he mastered over the years.
Today our focus is on utilizing those skills to build heirloom quality tables that can stand the test of time. Our goal is to see our tables passed down to the next generation.
Today we are a small workshop outside High Point, North Carolina. We build dining tables and the occasional one-of-a-kind piece that doesn't fit any category. Every commission is built by hand, start to finish, by the same person who talked with you at the beginning.
What We Believe
We use solid hardwood throughout — no veneers, no MDF cores, no shortcuts hidden inside a beautiful exterior. What you see is what the piece is made of.
Mortise and tenon, hand-cut dovetails, drawbored pegs. We use mechanical fasteners only where tradition calls for them. Joints that have held for centuries will hold for yours.
We source hardwoods from mills within 300 miles of our workshop. Appalachian walnut, Piedmont white oak, Carolina cherry. The wood comes from here. So do we.
A commission takes 3-6 weeks. We think that's appropriate for something you'll own for decades. We don't rush, and we don't apologize for it.
The People
Founder & Lead Craftsman
Rod has been working wood for over 35 years. He handles all client consultations and builds every dining table personally.
Joinery & Finishing
Issac is an apprentice craftsman. His desire to learn the skills that Rod has gained over the decades is what drives him.
Milling & Prep
Jacob grew up in a sawmill family in western NC. He handles wood selection, milling, and the careful flattening work that everything else depends on.
The Workshop
Our shop sits on a few acres of mixed hardwood forest outside of High Point.
We welcome visits to the workshop by appointment. Or start with a conversation — we're easy to reach and happy to talk through your project.
